Why it matters

The Solution Matters as Much as the Method

Great equipment only gets you halfway. What we spray, rinse, and treat with decides whether your carpet comes back soft and stays clean - or feels crunchy and re-soils in a few weeks. That is why we stick to a short list of professional-grade solutions and match the right one to each job.

Every solution we use is chosen for the same reasons:

  • Rinses out clean - no sticky residue left to attract dirt
  • pH matched to your fiber so wool and delicate dyes stay safe
  • Targets the source of stains and odors, not just the surface
  • Low-VOC and low-odor - safe for kids and pets once dry

A Look at the Solutions We Trust

A handful of go-to solutions cover the vast majority of the carpets, upholstery, and rugs we clean across Chicago. Pick one below to see what it is, why we reach for it, and where it fits.

How We Match the Solution to Your Situation

There is no single best product - only the best one for your fiber, the mess, and how the carpet is used. Here is the quick logic we follow.

Have something else - germs and high-touch areas that need sanitizing, a mixed-fiber piece, or a stain you cannot identify? We confirm the right approach and do a quick test before we start, at your free on-site estimate.

Our toolkit

The Full Solution Toolkit

Most carpet and rug cleaning comes down to just a handful of solution families. Rather than relying on one all-purpose product, we keep a focused, professional kit and match the right solution to your fiber and the mess in front of us.

Windy City technician applying a professional pre-spray during a deep clean

Loosen the soil, then rinse it clean

Every deep clean starts with an alkaline pre-spray that breaks down soil, body oils, and traffic-lane grime. An acid-side extraction rinse then neutralizes it, flushes out the residue, softens the fibers, and helps stop re-soiling down the road.

We use: Black Label Sweet Breeze, Formula 90, MasterBlend All Fiber Rinse MX, Prochem All Fiber Rinse, Bridgepoint End Zone

Target the stubborn stains and odors

When a standard clean cannot lift everything, we reach for specialists: enzyme treatments that break down pet urine, vomit, and organic soils at the source; oxygen brighteners that erase coffee, wine, yellowing, and browning; and solvent spotters that dissolve grease, tar, gum, and adhesive.

We use: USOR Unchained, Prochem OSR, Pure O2 Sweet Breeze OSR, Bridgepoint Wool Medic

Finish, freshen, and protect delicate fibers

Deodorizers neutralize lingering smells at the source, and sanitizers reduce bacteria on high-touch, high-traffic areas. For wool and oriental rugs we drop to gentle, pH-balanced solutions so natural fibers and delicate dyes stay safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What products do you use to clean carpets?

We use a short, proven line-up of professional-grade solutions: an alkaline pre-spray to loosen soil, an acid-side extraction rinse to neutralize and remove residue, oxygen brighteners for organic stains, and enzyme treatments for pet urine. Each one is matched to your fiber and the specific soil or stain we find during our carpet cleaning.

Why do you use professional-grade solutions instead of store-bought ones?

Retail cleaners often leave a sticky residue that attracts dirt and re-soils fast. The professional solutions we use are designed to rinse out cleanly, protect the fiber, and keep carpets looking better for longer.

Can I request a specific solution or scent?

Yes. If you have a fragrance sensitivity, prefer a fragrance-free finish, or want us to use a particular approach, just let us know when you book and we will match the job to your preference.

Are these solutions safe for kids and pets?

Yes. We choose low-VOC, low-odor solutions and rinse thoroughly so nothing tacky is left behind. Carpets are typically dry within 4 to 6 hours, and once dry the treated area is safe for kids and pets. For accidents, our pet odor removal goes even deeper.

Do you use special solutions for wool and oriental rugs?

Always. Wool and natural dyes can be damaged by high-pH products, so we switch to gentle, fiber-appropriate solutions kept in a mild pH range (about 5.5 to 8.5) for our wool and oriental rug cleaning.

Are your solutions eco-friendly and low-odor?

The solutions we reach for are low-VOC and low-odor, and many are green at ready-to-use dilution. They clean effectively while being gentle on your home and easy to be around.
